SHBC is a second harmonic bandwidth compressor designed to generate narrow-bandwidth picosecond pulses from the broad-bandwidth output of PHAROS and CARBIDE femtosecond lasers.

Both SHBC and SHBC-NB models enable the creation of versatile optical setups that combine narrow-bandwidth picosecond pulses with tunable-wavelength broadband femtosecond pulses. These setups are particularly valuable for sum-frequency generation (SFG) spectroscopy and femtosecond stimulated Raman spectroscopy (FSRS).

Additionally, the standard SHBC serves as a pump for the ORPHEUS‑PS, providing tunable picosecond output.
